In 2019, I organized an exciting and immersive night of experimental electronic music, synthesizers, and plant life as a benefit for WFMU in its performance space Monty Hall. For this sold out show, I conceptualized the night, organized the bill, and transformed the black box performance space into a plant oasis. ๐ชด ๐บ๐ณ๐ป๐ถ๐น
As you entered Monty Hall, we had an interactive fruit “piano” by composer Angรฉlica Negrรณn, where guests could “play” and make sounds with fruits.
On stage, we heard a dreamy, vibrant, and playful music sets that immersed guests in plant life and electronic sounds. Micah Frank played an amplified cactus, Yuka C. Honda played a short electronics set with Kahimi Karie on tuning fork, followed by a set of ON/IN – a duo band that Yuka has with Akio Mokuno, and Greg Fox performed a modular synth set.
